“Therapy aims to enhance your emotional health and resilience by working collaboratively to provide the tools needed to address your current concerns — so you can gain insight and skills to manage difficulties in the present and in the future.”
My approach
Whether you are dealing with an everyday problem, situational stress, an ongoing difficulty or a troubling past experience, therapy can help you manage painful and unhelpful thoughts, step out of self-defeating habits, improve the quality of your relationships, and engage in more effective behaviours.
You will gain an understanding of the nature of your problems — what has caused them, what is maintaining them and how your emotional reactions fit in — so that together we can devise a treatment plan suited to your unique concerns. You'll benefit from a variety of therapeutic approaches matched to your individual needs, including cognitive behavioural therapy, relationship therapy, schema therapy, motivational interviewing, and skills-based and supportive counselling.
By managing the struggles in your life and identifying what matters most to you, Ruth will help you create an emotionally more gratifying way of being.
